PARK INTERPRETIVE PROGRAM
<< Preamble >>
Visitor understanding of scenic, natural, scientific and historic features is recognized as essential to full enjoyment and understanding of Michigan's system of State parks. It is in the public interest to develop interpretive programs that will promote visitor understanding in this regard.
<< General Policy >>
Interpretive services in the State parks shall be provided by means of conducted field trips, illustrated talks, exhibits and displays, nature trails, markers, libraries and literature, visual aids and photographs, study collections and fact files, automobile tours, outdoor center presentations and other interpretive devices and media. The interpretive program shall present the inspirational, educational and recreational values of the State parks and recreational areas in such ways that the visitor may derive the utmost in understanding, appreciation and enjoyment from their experience.
