2300 - Minerals (ISSUED: 03/11/1999)
POLICY
It shall be the policy of the Natural Resources Commission to manage State-owned minerals in a manner that protects and enhances the public trust. Surface and mineral ownership may be consolidated when it is in the best interests of the State. Minerals shall be developed in an orderly manner to optimize revenue consistent with other public interest and natural resource values.
The following Natural Resources Commission (NRC) Policies are rescinded at the time the Director of the Department of Natural Resources adopts the Policies as Department Procedures:
- NRC Policy 2301 – Great Lakes Bottomlands Leases: Sand, Gravel, Stone and Fill Materials
- NRC Policy 2306 – Oil and Gas Leasing Policy
- NRC Policy 2308 – Sale or Reservation of Mineral and Allied Rights in Tax-reverted Lands
- NRC Policy 2309 – Nonmetallic Minerals Leasing Policy
- NRC Policy 2312 – Metallic Minerals Leasing Policy
- NRC Policy 2606 – Land Exchanges – Land Exchanges for all DNR Lands in Regions I and II, Except State Parks
- NRC Policy 5002 – Underground Gas Storage Leases – State-owned Lands
NRC Policies 2310 and 2311 are rescinded.
- NRC Policy 2310 – Oil and Gas Leases on State-owned Bottomlands of the Great Lakes
- NRC Policy 2311 – Sand Dune Protection and Management
