<< Preparing Division >>
Administrative Services
<< Preamble >>
Gifts, and bequests of cash, property and land are made to the Department from time to time, sometimes for special purposes.
<< General Policy >>
All gifts must be acknowledged in writing regardless of the amount except those received by the Commission, which will be acknowledged at the time of receipt. If a gift is received for a specific purpose which it is not feasible for the Department to pursue, the acknowledgment should explain this and ask if the donor would object to the gift being used for another purpose, which would be explained. If the donor wishes, the gift will be returned. In the case of land that cannot be used to advantage, it may be exchanged for other desirable land if this is possible under the terms of the gift. A memorial tablet or plaque may be placed giving the names of donors of State Park land.
